Well it is almost the start of my 5 day off weekend for the Holiday. Thanksgiving Day I get to go to one of my favorite local restaurants Page One in Glen Cove. After I run out to my brothers for desserts. I am not a big Thanksgiving Day fan. I have over the years just tried to avoid it all together. This year I decided to deal with both sides of the family for 2 hours each. This I can deal with. I just hate sitting around for 6 hours doing nothing but eating!! I find holidays to be such a waste of a day....yes you can say it "Bah Humbug"!
On Friday a look forward to the start of my weekend in the city. Booked the W Hotel on Lexington & 49th. Freebie with points for 2 nights. I packed my weekend with things to do. We are looking at one rental apartment called "The Olivia" on 33rd street in Chelsea. We hope to some day have an apartment we can go to. I also got tickets to see the new broadway show "Race". I had to see it because one of my favorite actors is in it James Spader. I just loved him on Boston Legal!
We are having dinner at a French Restaurant called "La Bointe en Bois" which is owned by a chef that use to own Bardi's in Great Neck which was one of my favorite restaurants. Hopefully there will be some shopping (till I drop) I was thinking of the Holiday Markets there is one at Bryant Park and one in Grand Central Station. Since I wanted to do the Holiday Fair at Grand Central Station I booked a dinner for one night at Charlie Palmers restaurant located at Grand Central. I also got tickets to see Black 47 at Connolly's for late Saturday night. This is a great Celtic Irish Rock band. So as you see I will be pretty busy!! I can't wait, hope the weather is not as bad as they predict!
HAPPY THANKGIVING 2009!

New Fall TV Shows 2009
Yes I admit it I am a TV addict. We have 4 DVR's in the house. One for my husband, one for my son and I have two. This year for me is finally the year of the sitcom again. For so many years the new shows were one reality show after another. And on top of it some of the greats were slowing ending like "King of Queens' one of my all time favorite sitcoms.
Well 2009 has brought some great new ones and some of the old one's are coming up to the plate and really are pretty darn funny.
Monday nights - How I met your Mother & Two and 1/2 men are hysterical this year and they put a new show in between them, that I am really enjoying "Accidentally on Purpose"
Another two I think got it right would be "Modern Family" and "The Middle".
One that I watch but I am just not sure I like so far, but seem to be attracted to keep watching it is "Cougar Town" and one that flopped for me would be "The Community"
And of course there is my all time favorite - you either love or hate. In my case LOVE - "The Office"
So 2009 - is the year of the SITCOM once again! Horray! But the bad news is about a week ago my husband told me how much he hates watching sitcoms??!?!? WTF? Oh well.
